ATLANTA (JAN. 4, 2024) – Ruane Communications, an established public relations firm founded in 1998 by John Ruane, announced today the rebranding of the boutique firm to Ruane PR. Like many small businesses in America, the pandemic devastated Ruane Communications, but the doors to the firm were kept open through project work.
The rebrand signals a fresh start with a reorganization of the company now focused on four areas of expertise: media relations, social media, content marketing and strategic counsel. The staff is comprised of long-time journalists who understand how story pitches should be written and delivered to gain serious consideration from the news media as well as how to best defend clients in crisis from negative media coverage.
“Our many years of major newsroom experience is a difference-maker for our firm,” said Ruane, who spent 10 years writing for the Chicago Sun-Times before moving into public relations. “Between us, we have more than 130 years of major newsroom journalism experience, which provides an inside understanding of the inner workings of the news media, plus a wealth of professional writing experience on deadline which generates quality content generation for clients.”
In addition to launching two of Michael Jordan’s books and introducing a new Parkinson’s treatment with Muhammad Ali which drew worldwide coverage, the firm’s greatest accomplishment was the creation and implementation of COPD Day at Yankee Stadium. That PR event generated more than 80 million media impressions and was highlighted by USA Today as one of the “top 25 most memorable moments in the history of Yankee Stadium.”
Over the past decade, social media and content marketing have become priority service offerings for Ruane PR.
“We added an accomplished professional to our firm, who has the experience and expertise to deliver not only client messaging to their target audience, but also post-campaign performance analysis using the most sophisticated platforms available,” said Ruane. “Social media marketing is now a communications area that requires a level of technology expertise to understand the creative component and strategic direction as well as post-campaign performance in order to measure the success of each individual channel's strategy.”
Since 1998, the firm has supported clients in several industries and developed a wealth of experience in healthcare, technology, consumer products and sports marketing. Applying successful strategies for clients across various industries has proven to be a winning formula.
“As a small firm, our rates are lower and we offer personal service by experienced professionals, former journalists who understand how to generate positive coverage, while protecting against negative attacks,” said Ruane. “For me, I’ve always valued being appreciated by clients as a reliable partner who they know can be depended on to help them achieve their communications objectives.”
